HawkSat-1865x
HawkSat-1865x is an experimental 1-U CubeSat to test the feasibility of a low-cost Attitude Determination & Control System (ADCS). I was selected as one of the flyers abroad for Aurelia Institute's maiden Horizon Zero-Gravity research flight, representing the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Aerospace Special Interest Group (ASIG). During the flight, I tested the control algorithm and response of the CubeSat ADCS. In this project, I designed all the mechanical and electrical systems as well as the control algorithms using a small computer independently. The results of the flight test later enabled my team to design a 3-U CubeSat as part of NASA's CubeSat Launch Initiative submission (NASA CLSI).
